While the origins of the Christmas Pickle lore are unclear, this widely popular holiday tradition ensures that whoever finds the Gherkin ornament hidden in the tree gets a special reward – the first present, good luck all year, for example – and now your family can be part of the fun! Decked in the ever-trendy bucket hat, this glitzy gherkin is sure to bring smiles all season.

Gherkin and Bucket Hat are worked in continuous rounds. Do not join at the end of rounds. Use a removable stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the round and move the marker up with each subsequent round. A hanging loop is added when attaching the bucket hat to the Gherkin. Two yarns are held together throughout the Gherkin – one strand of Everyday DK and one strand of Premier Glitter Thread. Treat the two yarns as one strand.
