Gloriole Wrap
NOTE: This yarn is no longer available, but there are so many other bulky weight yarns on the market that I’m sure would make a beautiful wrap.
A gloriole is a beautiful weather phenomenon that occurs on a bright sunny day when there are ice crystals suspended very high up in the atmosphere. The sun shines through the ice crystals and forms a halo or ring that appears to be wrapped around the sun or the moon.
In a similar way, crochet the Gloriole Wrap and wrap yourself up beautifully! The wrap is crocheted with bulky weight wool from the bottom tip upwards and with an easy stitch pattern and one-row repeat. The rows have increases at both ends so the wrap increases rapidly in width which makes the Gloriole Wrap very easy to wear. *
Dimensions:
The finished wrap should measure at least 80” (203 cm) wide (not including tassels) on the top edge and approximately 20” (50.8 cm) down the center front line. The wrap shown measures 88” (223.5 cm) wide.
A note on gauge:
Gauge is not critical for this project, but a medium tension is recommended.
