Glow in the Dark Plankton
Have you ever seen pictures of bioluminescent plankton? Maybe you’ve been lucky enough to see it in real life? Now you can have a piece of that magic to hold in your hand! (And you won’t have to get wet or sandy!) Another bonus is that this pattern is made seamlessly, so you’ll only have one end to sew in after finishing your plankton.
The pattern is made in just 34 rounds, so it works up very quickly – perfect if you wanted to make enough krill to feed a whale! The glow-in-the-dark effect was achieved using Lion Brand DIY Glow, but could be replicated with any glow-in-the-dark yarn. The pattern uses 2 yarns held together to achieve the glowing effect. The pattern also works with regular yarn if you prefer not to have the glowing effect, and you can make the pattern using any single yarn, or combination of yarns by adjusting your hook size.
This pattern is suitable for a confident beginner, with colour photos provided throughout the pattern for additional support.
If you would like to make more glow-in-the-dark creatures, you might like to consider purchasing the Bioluminescence Pattern Bundle, which includes the pattern for this plankton, as well as a squid and a jellyfish, for a discounted price, with some additional bonus content.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the pattern and I will do my best to help out. I would love to see photos of pieces you’ve created using this pattern, so please consider sharing them on social media: @LucienneCrochet or #LucienneCrochet
You are welcome to sell finished items made from my patterns, and it would make my day if you credit me as the designer. Do not sell, reproduce, or distribute any of the content included in this pattern for commercial purposes.
*** If you would like to purchase one of my patterns, but are experiencing financial difficulty (e.g. student, pensioner, unemployed, etc.), please send me a message and I will be happy to arrange a free copy for you.***
