This is the fourth pattern in my ‘Glowing Hearts of Canada’ pattern series! This series was inspired by my love of all things Canadian, and to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday.

The recommended yarn for this pattern comes from the oldest woolen mill in Canada, located in York Mills, New Brunswick, Canada. This woolen mill has been at the same location for over 150 years and still produces the highest quality wool yarn. Briggs and Little Tuffy yarn is a worsted weight wool yarn, which contains enough nylon to make durable and warm winter clothing and accessories. Perfect yarn for Canadian winters!

This pattern is knit using a stranded knitting technique for the charted portion of the pattern. Stranded knitting creates a tighter and less stretchy fabric. I used a 3.25 mm needle. However if you are a tight knitter, you may have to increase your needle size in order to create enough stretch in the stranded section in order to fit a larger hand.

Happy Birthday Canada!
