Gluhwein
This pattern can be knit using a DK sock set or a Fingering weight sock set with the yarn held double.
The Glühwein hat/cowl can change as quickly as the seasons and is the perfect accessory to keep you warm when traveling. Wear it loosely around your neck while indoors and pull it up over your ears when stepping outside. The i-cord runs through the top edge and is decorative when worn as a cowl and functional when pulled tight transitioning to a hat. Long hair ponytails or buns are no problem. This versatile cowl is all you will need to pack for that trip to the mountains or train ride to European Christmas markets.
Pattern Notes:
This cowl is knit bottom up starting with k1, p1 ribbing. A simple lace pattern constructs the main cowl. At the top a simple eyelet lace row is threaded with a removable i-cord to cinch up the top when used as a hat.
