I found that some of my worsted weight (ww) yarn stash was a lighter ww - possibly because they were vintage yarns. So I have 2 sizes in this pattern to reflect lighter and heavier worsted weights.

For my beards, I used Moda Dea Eden yarn though you can use almost any novelty type yarn you might have in your stash. Any type of eyelash yarn would work well for this.

Finished size is approximately 8-9” (20-22cm) high. The size of the gnomes can be adjusted by adding more rows to the body, or even by adding more stitches to the rounds if you’d like a gnome who is a bit “fluffier” (because fluffier is a friendlier word than fatter).
