Latest version: Version 3
It all started with #nevernotgnoming and before I knew it, knitted gnomes weren’t just popping up on my shelves, they were popping up in my garment sketches, too! The Go Big or Go Gnome set includes a hat and mittens. The mittens are a free pattern in Knitty.com and the hat is for sale here on Ravelry.
Playful and bold, this sweater is meant to be worn with 3-4” / 7.5-15cm of positive ease. Garment shown is being worn with 3” / 7.5cm positive ease.
With colourwork, it can be important to make sure that there is a big enough contrast between the different colours. In this pattern, the main colour needs to be quite distinct from Colours 2 and 3, while those two can be quite close to each other. Looking for help picking colours? It is important the the gnome colourwork section is not knit too tightly. If the gauge there is different than the stockinette surrounding it, it will not look good. However, even the best of colourwork puckers when it is unblocked, so make sure that you give your sweater a good soaking and blocking once you’re done.
