Goblin Granny Pocket Poncho
I decided to make myself a fun autumn poncho, to get a little cozier in this in-between seasonal weather, and I started with just some granny squares, and I realized I really wanted pockets to carry around my phone, or collect little treasures on my walks by the river - looking online I found nothing that matched what I was looking for, so I decided to make it a thing - and the “Goblin Granny Pocket Poncho” was born. Perfectly sized hidden pockets to keep your hands warm or bring home those little woodland gifties, is what gives this poncho the Goblin vibes.
The versatility of granny squares can make your version anything from Chic to Boho, and always practical because “Look! It has Pockets!
The pattern is written so it will be easy for a beginner to follow and has plenty of photos to help you along the way, even if this is your first time crocheting a granny square.

Sizing – This poncho is generously sized so that it will fit comfortably over a hoodie or light jacket, as an extra layer of cozy without bundling up the elbows. The models shown are wearing the same sized ponchos - one wears XL, and one wears a Medium. Someone with a slighter frame who wears a extra-small or small may be more comfortable with a 5 round granny square instead of the 6 round square shown. Pocket instruction is given for both options.

For the autumn colours poncho I used the following yarns - Red Heart Super Saver Stripes in “Cafe Latte” (2 balls), and “Forest“ 1 and 3/4 balls, Knitpicks Brava worsted in “Paprika” 3 balls, Joann’s Big Twist Value in “Toffee” one full ball.
-
For the grey and black poncho I used Loops and Threads Color Craft one pound ball in “Black” the whole thing, Red Heart Heatwave yarn in “Passport” 1 &1/2 balls, and Craftsmart yarn in Gray 1 full ball.
Thank you so much for sharing my appreciation for a staple of cozy comfort!
