Goddess Fancy Cable Cape
This cape came about because a SIL was complaining about the lack of proper coverings in her size. So, I designed this one for her.
That being said, I would love to see this knit with a DK yarn and comparable needle. Would most likely fit a lot of other folks not so generously sized.
The bottom band is started with a provisional cast on. Then stitches are picked up to go up the body. Slits are made on the front for hands. And then the yoke is done in a diamond cable design.
The neck is then stitched followed by the front bands. Buttons on the front hold it all closed. Button as few or as many as wanted. This is a very warm cape! Hubby tried it on and did not want to take it off!
Use any worsted weight that would give you the gauge. Or experiment with a DK weight. Would love to see the results. Of course the gauge would need to be different also.
Many thanks to the test knitters for their wonderful help.
Thank you for choosing my pattern.
