This shawl is knit from center top down to the striped border out of sport or DK weight yarn. The pattern has been “translated” from an original historical pattern to make sense for modern knitters, including modern US needle and yarn sizes.

The sample was knit with Brown Sheep NatureSpun Sport, but it would also look nice in other sport weight yarns. For historical accuracy, 100% wool yarns are recommended.
