Going My Way
This pattern uses the concept of assigned pooling. I strongly credit Dawn Barker and her wonderful designs for inspiring this piece.
This technique must be used with a variegated yarn. Choose a stretch of color to do your floret stitch, and begin knitting! For my project, I used a hand dyed yarn specifically designed for assigned pooling, however if you have a self striping sock yarn or just want to have the texture the floret stitch brings for a single color yarn, this is your project so go for it!
The yarn I used was purchased from A Chick that Knitz, you can purchase it here: https://achickthatknitz.com
Prior to beginning this project, I recommend doing a small gauge (about 20 stitches by however long you need) in order to get the proper size and balance of the assigned pooling stitches. Once you have it, remember or record what you did and enjoy!
Approximate size of the shawl is about 52 inches in width, and about 16 inches at the center point. The size may vary depending on blocking, tension, and also if you choose to make it larger or smaller.
