You could travel the world…..
But nothing comes close to the Golden Coast
As soon as I saw these gentle colors at Emma’s Yarn Dye Studio, I knew I had to have them right away. Luckily, Aspen let me take them home with me. Fisherman’s Rib combined with Eyelets and Wildflowers brings to life a breathtaking Golden Coast town, Pacific Grove. The gentle ocean breeze surrounds your neck with Mohair lace to add a light and airy softness to keep you warm as you take in the breathtaking sights.
The Golden Coast Shawl is an asymmetrical shawl knit side to side. The first section features a center decrease in the spine and increases on the edges. Then the decrease section is worked on one side and creates an asymmetrical shape.
The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts and also includes charts.
Amazing kits are available at Four Purls go check out which area of California you want to visit!!!!
Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Color One (C1): Winds of Change (gold w/ purple speckles) 375 yards
Color Two (C2): Dusk Til Dawn (dusty purple) 375 yards
Mohair (C3): Dusk Til Dawn 230 Yards (dusty purple)
Needles: US 4/3.5mm, & 6/4mm 24’ or 32” circular needles
Notions: One Stitch Marker, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 18 stitches = 4 inches in garter after an aggressive blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished Size: 28” deep x 88” neckline” tip to tip after blocking. Finished dimensions will vary due to blocking and fiber content; the silk in the sample resulted in a very drapey shawl.
