Golden Wreath
Golden Wreath is a cuff-down sock with a stranded colour work border and eye of partridge heel, with a unique gusset shaping.
It comes in three sizes: 56, 64 and 72 stitches, is knit in fingering weight yarn, and uses 2mm needles
(although using your regular sock needle is fine, up to 2.5mm)
You will need three colours (50-100g of a main colour yarn, and very small amounts of contrast colour), mini skeins are perfect for this project.
The colourwork motif is inspired by the lingonberry leaf wreaths commonly put up as decorations in Sweden around the Holidays. While lingonberries are evergreen, a sprinkling of gold dust will turn this well-loved wreath into the most festive one in the neighbourhood.
Although designed as a Holiday knit, the Golden Wreath socks look fantastic in any colours, and fits any season. The colourwork takes very little yarn, so you can get creative with your mini skeins and sock scraps.
