Chelsea Luxe, baby. And some Hair of the Mo, too!

“Goldenrod and Pollen”
by Corrado Lark

The Backstory:

This hat uses Silk Mohair and DK yarn in a few different ways. The yarn is held double, stranded, and by itself, which gives a ‘stained glass’ effect to the fabric. One (fantastic) test knitter used a lace-weight alpaca instead of the Mohair, and it worked fantastically well, too!

The Needs:

  • US 6 / 4mm, 16” circular needles. US 8 / 5mm, 16” Circular needles (and Magic Looping / Dpn’s for your decreases). A stitch marker and a darning needle.

  • 1 skein of Chelsea Luxe Merino DK (225yrds / 100g, 100% Superwash Merino). 1 skein of Chelsea Luxe Mohair (459 yrds / 100g 72% Kid Mohair / 28% Silk).

  • Sample in the “Favorite Leather Boots” and “Unicorn Palace” colorways.

  • Gauge (blocked): Ribbing: 5 stitches and 8 rows per 1” Body pattern: 22 stitches and 24 rows per 4”

  • Finished Measurements: 13” in length, 9” in width.

  • Sized loosely for a medium-sized adult head.
