Goldie Hat For American Girl 18 Inch Dolls
Goldie is a simple, clean-lined, yet eye-catching hat, with its 4 bold leaves over a background of garter stitch. It’s knit seamlessly on DPNs and works up quickly in sport weight yarn - it requires only approx. 62 yards if making the pompomed version, if you skip the pompom even less will be needed. The leaf pattern is given in both written and charted format to suite your preference. Even though it’s called Goldie, it would be equally lovely in any of your favorite Fall or Spring colors - orange, red, green or brown. If you’re proficient in intarsia, you could add a leaf of each color - half the fun of knitting is the chance to play and add our own personal twist to a project.
Pattern includes schematic with measurements of finished hat.
Designed to fit 18” (46cm) dolls with a head circumference of approx. 12 1/4” (31cm), such as American Girl, Australian Girl, Gotz, Maplelea Girl and similar dolls.
The difficulty level of this pattern is: Intermediate - requires a knowledge of (or willingness to learn) basic knitting skills, working a variety of increases & decreases (the less commonly used ones are explained in detail in the pattern), and working in the round on DPNs.
