Meet Goldy Locks, the lion with the curliest,finest looking mane in all of the jungle.

This adorable crochet lion makes a lovely gift and delights all he meets, young and old. He is soft and comforting to cuddle, and the texture of the hair is interesting for little fingers to touch. The unique method to create the hair is a lot easier than you may think - it doesn’t require seaming or stitching, but is crocheted to the lion’s head in a continuous method.

This crochet pattern includes easy to follow instructions with a helpful diagram to show you how to join the legs as you go, and a detailed description on how to create the lion’s lovely curly mane.

Gaugeis not important for this pattern. I have listed some yarns that you can use above, but feel free to choose whatever yarn you like. If you use a heavier or lighter weight yarn, keep in mind that this will change the size of your finished product. With a 4.5mm hook and 8 ply yarn, the lion measures approximately 28 cm (11 inches) height.
Yardage – Colours (with Dk/8 ply yarn)
Main Colour – MC (yellow) – approx. 80 gr (132m/142.5 yd)
Contrast Colour – CC (orange) – anywhere from 50 - 100gr (87.5m-175m/95-190 yd) depending on how thick or long you want the mane.
