Named for the national park where Jane Goodall made her observations of chimpanzees, Gombe Stream is a rugged piece that you can just grab and go.

This vest is knit in one piece from the bottom up and features a reversible rib collar that is appealing whether it is buttoned closed or left open.

Choose a size 2”/ 5 cm larger than your chest circumference.

The sample shown is shown with 2” /5 cm ease in a size S1 on a 34” bust.

Yarn Requirements:

Approximately 525 (610, 688, 760) 845 (910, 986, 1074) yards / 480 (558, 629, 695) 773 (832, 902, 982) meters worsted weight wool.

Sample shown in The Fibre Company, Cumbria (60% Merino, 30% Masham, 10% Mohair & 238 yards / 218 meters per 100g) Colorway: Yew Tree; 3 hanks.

Needles and Notions: US size 8 / 5 mm 24” / 60 cm and US 6 / 4 mm 24” / 60 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

2 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 1 button around 1.5” / 4 cm in diameter, waste yarn, needle and thread.

Techniques used: Short rows, basic increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches.
