Gone to the Mountains Hat
ABOUT
This hat can be a great stash buster. It is important to check your gauge for this project. The pattern is written using Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails, which are held double as you knit. The pattern uses six different colors to make the trees, mountains and stars. This hat was inspired by my love of camping and being outdoors!
AS OF 3/10/2017 THE PATTERN SALES HAVE RAISED $350.00!!!!
AS OF 3/17/2017 RVFTA RAISED $10,000.00 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS CAUSE!!!! FROM THIS POINT FORWARD SALES WILL NOT BE GOING TO TENTS FOR TROOPS. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT
~We think this initiative is inspiring and worth our fundraising efforts. Our audience knows the restorative value of RVing. We know that time spent at the campground brings our families closer together. Can we all come together to provide that experience for our active duty military members?~

416 yards of fingering weight yarn that is held doubled, or 208 yards of yarn to obtain gauge. This hat can be an excellent project to use up stash yarn, or a great excuse to buy Unicorn Tails.
NEEDLES
US 6 / 4 mm- 16” circular
US 6 / 4 mm- double pointed needles
SIZE
This hat fits between a 20”- 22” head as the pattern is written.
The hat measurements are 20” circumference (the hat does stretch when worn) and 9” from crown to brim. To increase the size of the hat from the brim to the crown you can knit a larger brim. The pattern calls for a 1” brim, but by doing additional rows to the brim you can increase the size of the hat. But keep in mind this may require more yarn than the pattern calls for.
GAUGE
6 sts = 1” stockinette stitch
7 rows = 1” stockinette stitch
