“Gonna be a big star” is dedicated to my dear daughter who is working hard to achieve her dream. She is a lovely young woman who we were privileged to parent for the past 11 years. She has overcome personal tragedy, upheavals and setbacks and is a strong person who will do well in life.

Even the strong need encouragement, so I designed this pattern with her in mind.

To make this pattern, you will need:

MATERIALS:
Pillow - 16”
Worsted weight yarn, in 3 colors, 8 ounces total
Size 8 5mm knitting needles – DPN and circular
Size H crochet hook
16” round pillow form
or, to make your own pillow form
½ yard fabric
10 oz fiberfill (or stuffing of choice)
sewing thread

Rug - 21”
Doubled worsted weight yarn – about 8 ounces
Size 11 8 mm knitting needles – DPN and circular
Size K crochet hook

Motif – 8” and 5 ½”
Sports weight (8”) about 1 ½ ounces
Size 4 3.5mm knitting needles DPN and circular
Size E crochet hook

Fingering weight yarn (5 1/2”) about 1 ½ ounces
Size 1 2.25mm knitting needles – DPN and circular
Size B crochet hook

All versions – matching sewing thread, optional

I cord, attached and binding off
