“April is the cruelest month,” according to T.S. Eliot’s poem “The Wasteland.” April can be grey, rainy, and blustery with the biting cold of winter still crisp in the air. When April is cruel, these sweet socks will keep you cozy with the promise of spring.
In Sonnet 98, Shakespeare put a different spin on April, writing “April, dressed in all his trim, hath put a spirit of youth in everything.” April can bring budding flowers, chirping birds, and rays of sunshine. On these days, when spring has sprung, these socks will be a lovely reminder of the best parts of the season.
Knit cuff down, the Good Morning, Gorgeous socks are ankle length, with some simple lace, and an eye of partridge heel. Easy and engaging, they knit up quick, and are a perfect gift for you or someone you love as we embark on the journey into spring, or any season.
This pattern is written with magic loop in mind, but can be adapted to DPNs or small circumference needles.
