Good Night (Vale)
This is a Night Vale inspired colorwork sweater. It can be knit with any DK weight yarn.
This pattern also includes 4 scarf versions of the pattern. Each version adds a new element to the scarf so you can knit it based upon the techniques you feel like using. The different scarf patterns are as follows:
A. Colorwork scarf
B. Colorwork scarf with Latvian braids
C. Colorwork scarf with Lace edging
D. Colorwork scarf with Latvian braids and Lace edging
The yardage for the scarf is only an estimate.
Materials:
Yarn: 2 - 3 skeins each of Main Color (MC) and Contrast Color (CC) of Wollmeise Merino DK (100% Wool, 11 wpi) or other DK weight yarn
Sweater shown uses Ein Klein Wenig Verrucht as MC and Sensibel as CC.
Shaping is done by increasing and decreasing needle size so guage is essential in this pattern.
Special Techniques:
Latvian Braid (directions included in pattern)
Pattern Notes:
This sweater has 2 inches of negative ease. These instructions are for size 40 (44, 48, 52). This means the sweater is 38 (42, 46, 50) inches measured flat. Because of the large repeat size (24 sts) I have only included a couple other sizes because I fear anything smaller than this will be to small in the front. Due to the negative ease this sweater could comfortable fit anyone size 34 to 52. On someone size 34 it will appear to have 4 inches positive ease. For all other sizes it will have 2 inches negative ease unless you go up a size in which case it will have positive ease. Please feel free to futz around if you wish to make a smaller or larger size.
