GoodReader Tutorial Wash Cloth
The GoodReader Tutorial Washcloth, as the name implies, is a great pattern + tutorial combo.
1) You get an awesome washcloth pattern. The instructions are written and charted and have been test knit. It knits up quickly, has just enough drape to it to work beautifully at sudsing up that soap!
2) You get my 20 page GoodReader Tutorial which brings you through the process of importing a pattern from Ravelry into GoodReader App for iPad, making notes as you knit/crochet your project and finally how to save and export your notes for future reference.
Do you need to knit the washcloth? Well, I’m not going to force you, no. However, the second two pages of the pattern prompts you to practice using the notation features you learned in the Tutorial as you work your way through the knitting pattern. I find that I really absorb things when I learn the skills and then implement what I’ve learned.
Who is this for?
- iPad users who want to learn how to take notes on PDF patterns digitally using the GoodReader App for iPad (which you must purchase separately in the Apple Store).
- NOTE- GoodReader is NOT available for Android. Please remember, you’re purchasing this washcloth pattern and I’m giving my GoodReader Tutorial as my gift to you. I will not be able to provide a refund if you are not able to download/use/install GoodReader for whatever reasons may arise. I highly recommend purchasing and installing GoodReader on your iPad before you purchase this pattern if your primary interest is in the tutorial.
Why do I think you’ll enjoy taking notes in GoodReader versus using printed patterns?
- GoodReader is a low-cost app for iPad that doesn’t require a monthly subscription.
- You can import any PDF patterns (from Ravelry, email, Dropbox etc)
- It allows you to keep notes about progress on all of your projects without the need for a computer, printer & paper to print the pattern… without the need for a pen and various highlighter options… without the need for post its or a ruler to keep your eye trained on a chart.
- Never leave home with your paper pattern only to find you didn’t know you had to print a chart or special instructions at the back of the ebook you weren’t aware you’d need!
- It’s easier to see photographs when you have a question about a particular part of a pattern. No need to rely on a crumby black and white photo. View photos in full color and even zoom in. It could save you hours and a lot of frustration in avoiding a mistake.
- If your pattern includes a link to a photo or video tutorial you can access those as long as you’re connected to Wifi or cellular.
- You can download a pattern anytime/anywhere you can connect to Ravelry and get started on a project. No printer required! Ultimate freedom for your creative whims!
Those who have already tested out this tutorial have said:
- “I was impressed with the detail that was provided in a clear format that should help people be able to understand and use it. You included not only how to use it but why we should, and how a knitter would use it.”
- “I loved all the clear explanations, and ways to use the program to mimic what we would normally use a pencil for. And also that you included basic reassurance for those familiar with technology who might worry otherwise.”
- This eCourse was super helpful! I had made a halfhearted attempt to use GoodReader before and just didn’t take the time to figure it out. With your pdf, it was very simple…. I’m working on a mosaic cowl now … and I have to tell you how much I am loving using GoodReader and many of your tips. I color coded the chart, am using the line for a row marker, and also using typewriter and the free drawing to mark off repeats. Brilliant!“
Need more support?
While I wish I could answer every question about GoodReader, I simply can not reply to individual questions and issues nor can I provide tech support for your device or issues with downloading and installing GoodReader. I do encourage you to come chat in the Down Cellar Studio Podcast Ravelry Group Thread for GoodReader App users to see if other users can answer your questions. I will pop in as time allows, and if there are clear themes that should be better explained, I will absolutely consider publishing an edited version or addendum. My goal is to get you started with this app so you can continue to learn and explore from here! I really think you’re ready to go forth and edit those patterns!
