This listing is an original pattern in English to knit with knitting needles your own cute tiny goose and booby!

Together with this knitting pattern you will receive separate 9 pages file where all abbreviations are brought together with all the methods of knitting with their detailed description. It also contains the links on video-lessons.
Most of them were taken from existing and widely used british and american terminology but the row note is made quite short and very close to crochet instructions. In that way, from the first sight it may be unusual in comparison with the way you were knitting before, but in some time you will find it much more convenient than other ways of pattern notes. This system was checked by many of knitters and they liked it.
Created by me.

This pattern is suitable for those with intermediate knitting skills and have knowledge of short rows, left and right leaning increases and decreases and etc., basic sewing and embroidery techniques. All the abbreviations are described in details in a separate file.

The size of the finished toy on picture – approximately 12cm. If you use different thickness of the thread and the size of the knitting needles the size of the finished work may be different.

This pattern is for personal use only.

These 16 pages goose and booby pattern includes detailed instructions with plenty of photo references to instruct you on how to knit. Materials and tools neccessary for this knitting pattern:
1. Yarn and knitting needles.
For knitting, you will need round knitting needles with a short cable (40 cm or longer) or a set of double pointed needles with a diameter of 2 mm. I prefer knitting needles with a cable and work using the Magic Loop method.
For knitting legs and wings, it is more convenient to use a pair of double pointed needles, but you can do it with knitting needles on a cable.
Use a crochet hook at the beginning of knitting with the knitting needles to cast on stitches. Read more about the casting on in the abbreviations file.
The main color of the yarn for knitting is white or gray, for the beak and legs you need a little red or orange yarn. The goose can be knitted from smooth yarn, but geese from textured yarn look more interesting.
For knitting a white goose I used Kamtex Cotton “Grass” yarn, for knitting a gray goose - Nako Paris. YarnArt Jeans yarn was used for the beak of the white goose.
For knitting needles with a diameter of 2 mm, I usually choose yarn with a thickness of about 200 - 300 m per 100 g. If you find it difficult to knit the specified yarn with a needle diameter of 2 mm without holes, you can add a fine thread to the main yarn to match.

The size of the finished goose when using such materials is about 12 cm.

  1. Toy stuffing.
  2. For the eyes, you need 2 black beads with a diameter of 5-6 mm and a needle with a small eye for sewing them on. I sew with a line or monofilament. For the eyelids, I use a small piece of smooth thread about the same thickness as the base yarn. The color can be matched, or a little lighter or darker.
  3. For assembly and decoration - a needle with a wide eye, into which the knitting thread passes.
  4. Auxiliary - 2 safety pins for removing stitches or two pieces of thick thread.
  5. Additionally, you can add some tinting around the eyes. Tinting can be done with dry pastels or colored pencils, and fixed with a solution of acrylic varnish (about 1 to 5 with water) or PVA glue. Materials for booby differ only in the choice of yarn colors. A detailed description of the materials is in the bonus section after the main description.

I wish you a wonderful knitting!
