ABOUT THE PATTERN
Growing up in Minnesota, going to Duluth and visiting Lake Superior was a big deal! It was almost like we were visiting the ocean… except it was an ocean so cold you could hardly dip your toes in. Nonetheless, we loved hiking to nearby Gooseberry Falls to watch the cascades. This bandana cowl is lightweight enough for summer, yet can still snuggle around your shoulders if it gets cold (as it does almost every evening in Duluth).

US4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge 20” (50 cm) long (cowl is worked flat at first and then joined in the round)

22 sts / 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch using US4 (3.5 mm) after wet blocking
Exact gauge is not critical, but because the cowl requires nearly the entire yardage, deviation from the gauge will affect the size of the cowl and yarn requirements.
