This 7-page PDF crochet pattern contains step-by-step instructions (with many pictures) on how to make a cute little devil, just like the ones we always say sit on our shoulders and encourage us to buy that extra skein of yarn. It is written in English and uses standard American crochet terminology. Plus, an abbreviations list is included as well as a printer friendly version of the pattern!

Materials

  • Yarn – I used cotton size 5, but any type of any weight will work as long as you choose an appropriately sized hook for the yarn. Below you’ll find the exact types and amounts of yarn I used:
  • About 44.5 yards (~40.8 meters) of 100% Cotton size 5 Hot Red, Cahlista, by “Scheepjes”.
  • About 3.7 yards (~3.4 meters) of 100% Cotton size 5 Root Beer, Cahlista, by “Scheepjes”.
  • About 20 inches of black embroidery floss
  • 12mm plastic safety eyes with washers (x2).
  • Crochet hook 3.50 mm (US size E)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch marker or contrast color yarn

If you use the same size yarn and hook as I do in the pattern, your finished little devil will be roughly this size: in Inches: 4.75 (width) x 2.25 (depth) x 4.75 (height) or in Centimeters: 12.07 (width) x 5.72 (depth) x 12.07 (height)

Difficulty: Advanced beginner to intermediate and beyond.
This is fun and quick pattern, great for advanced beginner crocheters and beyond! While this is a straight forward pattern where special stitches are explained, it assumes you have basic crochet knowledge and have some familiarity with amigurumi staples, like the magic circle. If you have any questions while working through it, I am more than happy to assist!
