Grace
You can get both Grace + Aise as a bundle for $13.99! Click here for the bundle.
Elegant and refined, Grâce is a top-down raglan with a crew neckline and short sleeves. A lovely Japanese lace pattern and cable-like traveling twisted stitches form a striking center front panel. This effortless top is equally charming knit in a crisp linen yarn or a midweight wool. You’ll find yourself reaching for this breezy top when an ordinary tee won’t do. Let your inner and outer beauty shine through with Grâce.
If you like the look of this design but want a bit less coverage, be sure to check out Grâce’s sister pattern, Aise.*
At Aroha Knits, I value diversity. It is what makes the Fibre Muse community so strong! But I know that one area that I needed to work on is making my garment designs more accessible to people of all shapes and sizes. That is why I am so excited about Kniterator as it helps me make my garment designs just a bit more inclusive!
Kniterator is a top-down raglan calculator, created by Tineke. By entering in your gauge and desired measurements for a pattern you wish to work, Kniterator generates a custom written pattern just for you.
It’s simple, fast and an affordable way to generate a seamless custom-fit pattern, accessible for both beginner and more experienced knitters.
Grace and Aise are the first of two designs born from this collaboration.
Grace, a raglan tee, and Aise, a tank, both feature a lovely and delicate Japanese lace motif. Want to knit it up in a lace-weight yarn? Go ahead! Living in the Southern Hemisphere and want to knit something a bit warmer, in a DK weight perhaps? That’s possible too.
I named the patterns so because we are often so hard on ourselves, whether it’s critiquing our intelligence, our bodies, our voices, etc., there is often something to beat ourselves up over.
Learning to grant myself grace and ease has been a years-long journey. I’m still learning it. But I’ve found that it just feels so much better when I talk to myself the way I would someone that I care very much about. Would I talk to my best friend in a cruel and condescending manner? No! So why would I do the same to myself?
It is difficult to find patterns, garment designs especially, that can accommodate the diversity of shapes and sizes that are present in our fibre community. That is why I believe Tineke’s work at Kniterator is so important. Through her science and math know-how, with my artistic eye for design, we hope to be better able to provide patterns that more people can enjoy.
Because of the unique programming required for these patterns, they are not available for purchase on Ravelry but through the Kniterator website.
Pattern information is based on the materials used in the sample. As this is a pattern generator based on gauge and measurements, your yardage will vary.
