This lovely coat is knit from the bottom up and has a garter stitch hem.
The pattern stitch described is “line by line” AND in a graph. The pattern describes how many repeats to do of each pattern.
I describe a two yarn cast on which eliminates having to guess how much yarn for a long tail cast on. I chose a linen and cotton yarn for the sheer weight of the final fabric. I holds the blocked lace pattern quite nicely. I am now working a similar pattern in Alumco, a 50/50 cotton/ polyamide and I will comment on that yarn later.
