Notes From the Designer:
My little girl nose crinkled at the fishy smell of the docks. My dad and I were about to head out on the boat for a day on the water. We lived in Juneau, Alaska, and the sky, as usual, was overcast – a dull, insistent, mottled grey. We slowly puttered out to the open water, picking up speed and bop, bop, bopping on the waves until we finally stopped to drop our fishing poles into the sea. The churning, endless, powerful depths of the ocean… the air was clear and crisp and laden with the scent of seaweed and salt.
The day ended with the most delicious cod cooked in butter right there on our tiny boat. Thanks, Dad, for a wonderful day that I’ll always treasure! This pattern embodies the colors of that day. It’s a perfect, cozy shawl or scarf. Wrap it around your neck on chilly days, or just wear it as a fashion statement. Easy. Comfy. Sea-like.

- The sample used 1080 yards (988 m) total: Color A: 360 yds (330 m), Color B: 360 yds (330 m), and Color C: 360 yds (330 m).
- The chart repeat is shown in red.
- The stitch pattern is a multiple of 12+8 and can be made larger or smaller. Try casting on 44 sts for a scarf. Adjusting the width will affect the amount of yardage needed.
