Gradient Tunisian Temperature Blanket
TUNISIAN CROCHET PATTERN
This fun and modern Temperature Blanket is worked in panels, using two different types of yarns and is done in Tunisian Simple Stitch. Daily temperature color stripes are worked using a contrasting color which gives the striping a blended and woven look. Panels are joined together and a simple single crochet border is added to finish it off.
Stripe colors are determined by the daily high temperatures and are worked using several different colorways of Stylecraft Special DK yarn. Lionbrand Mandala yarn in Centaur and Warlock Colorways are used as contrasting colors.
360 days will be tracked as 9 long panels (5 wide and 4 narrow) of 40 days each. Each panel is worked separately and then stitched together to form the blanket.
Since the panels will only incorporate a total of 360 days, 5 dates are chosen to be strategically “skipped” when working the panels. These 5 days’ corresponding temperature colors will be used in the joining of the panels and in the border. Choose any 5 you wish – birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc.
Also included is a helpful Planning Guide to assist in the process of determining temperature ranges and corresponding colors, dates skipped, joining & border colors, and daily temperature tracking
This pattern would also make a great stash-busting project as well!
