Gradiently
I am not a shawl person; I don’t wear them, and I don’t like to knit them, but I really wanted to play with my gradient yarn, so this is what evolved.
Gradiently is knit back and forth initially, then joined in the round for most of the garment. It consists of a small garter stitch border at the top and bottom, and otherwise is completely mesh stitch. There is only one short seam to sew at the end.
The sample is knit in XS/S/M with 515 yards of The Fibre Studio’s Fifty Shades of Gradient, in Azure. It measures 48” around (L/XL is 58”), and allows for wiggle room, as one arm remains inside the garment when worn.
Wear it over a tank to add some color to a summery outfit, or in lieu of a wrap over a little black dress, or even throw it on over a swimsuit to go to lunch from the beach or your boat :)
