This wrap is infinitely size-able. It is based on the border motifs of a shawl I give upon college graduation to the young women of my family. All motifs are 20 stitch repeats. Knit with worsted weight yarn it is a fluffy, cozy wrap, great for curling up in bed or on the couch with a good book. Knit with fingering weight yarn it can be airy and elegant. Add beads and it becomes suitable for evening wear.

As with all lace shawls, yarn amounts change as you change your gauge, yarn weight, and needle size. To make the wrap deeper, repeat chart B-2, ending with chart B-3. To make a wrap with a longer wingspan, add 40 or 80 stitches to your cast on. In either of these cases, you will use more yarn.

The models I knit use hand spun yarn. Test knitters used a variety of sock yarn. This is a project that lends itself to yarn with long color repeats. It is also stunning in gradient yarn.
