The pattern was inspired by my daughter’s room make-over. She wanted to add some colour to her mostly black room. As her theme is mostly grunge/industrial, with a full wall painted in blackboard paint, we decided that something similar to paint splashes/graffiti would be perfect.

The pattern is ideal for beginners that have mastered the basic granny, and would like to try a different, but still basic, square.

This pattern will teach new crocheters how to join a block in the corner with a htr, as opposed to the more traditional way of using slip stitches to get to the corner.

The border is a variation of the basic granny stripe.
