Perhaps I was just really hungry that afternoon at the store or something when I began planning this project, but for some reason the color of this yarn really reminded me of graham crackers. That hunger pang inspired this tasty combination of stitch patterns used in this month’s design. When I think of graham crackers I think of a favorite family recipe - Graham Cracker Chocolate Delights - and all the love and family fun put into making them. Stacks of graham crackers waiting to be decorate show up in our pattern in the form of an interesting diagonal stitch on the flap of our bag. While bowls full of chocolate chips (or almond pieces…. you can always add or use those instead of chocolate chips) inspired the texture on the body and strap of the bag. Mix them together and you’ve got one yummy bag suit- able for men and women of all ages!

Messenger bags are traditionally worn with the strap over one shoulder and across the chest so that the bag rests comfortably on your lower back. If you want your bag to be worn in this manner simply work the strap until you reach the desired length or about a single skein of yarn. Personally I prefer to wear mine more like a regular handbag - again work your strap to the desired length (I used just under half a skein). I hope you enjoy your bag as much as I enjoyed creating it for you!
