Grain sack baby blanket
The main stitch used to make this blanket is called ‘Seed’ stitch in America and ‘Moss’ Stitch in the UK. I’ve chosen this stich as I wanted texture to contrast with the smoothness of the stocking/ stockinette rows of the stripes. I also needed a stitch that would work sideways as this is knitted from side to side and not top to bottom. I was happy with the result. I hope you like it too.
The finished blanket can be used for a baby or toddler. It’s an easy knit with not too many instructions and can be knitted in a few days.

The finished size of this blankets is approx:
34 x 25.5” (87 x 65cm)
Materials required:
Lion Brand Hometown USA 140g balls :-
x 5 for the primary colour
x 1 for the secondary colour (you will only use approx 35 grams for the secondary colour)
10mm knitting needles (US size: 15), straight or circular
Yarn needle for sewing in threads
Lion Brand Hometown is a Super Chunky yarn. Each ball weighs 140g and is approx 74m (81 yards).
I’ve used Houston Cream as the primary colour and Fort Worth Blue for the secondary colour.
This yarn is 100% Acrylic, washable at 40°C and may be tumble dried.
