This is a cocoon, also called a sleep sack or snuggle sack. This pattern is worked in the round, with 2 colors, but can easily be done in one color. Knowledge of working in the round with 2 colors is recommended.
Size 7 circular needles were used and size 6 DPNs were used on the bottom of the cocoon and on the beanie hat.
The beanie hat is designed to fit birth to 6 months depending on the size of the babies head.
Finished cocoon and hat weighed 8 oz. The cocoon is 16 inches but can easily be made longer.
4.5 oz of Lion Brand Heartland was used for the main color and 3.5 oz of Caron One Pound was used for the other color. However any worsted weight or baby yarns could be used. Gauge is not important in this project.
