The Granby River—named for the mining company that operated a smelter along its banks in the early 1900s—flows south from the Monashee Mountains to the United States border. Although at one point the river was dammed to provide power to the nearby smelter, today it is known as one of the best fly fishing regions in British Columbia.

Granby is a bandana-style cowl that is knit flat, starting at the tip, and then joined and worked in the round around the neck.

YARN/YARDAGE

DK weight yarn.—approx. 160g (360y) Colour A and 40g (90y) Colour B, or 200g (450y) of a solid colour.

4.5mm (US 7) 24” circular needle, or size needed to get gauge, stitch markers, locking stitch marker, darning needle

24 st / 4” in stockinette, after blocking
