Grandad Gonk Gnome
I absolutely adored my Grandad growing up. He was funny and round and a proper gentleman. My grandad always had a hat on. In the house he’d wear his cap (he was a pitman) but when he went out somewhere special he wore his trilby.
I think he’d be very amused if he was still here to know I’d turned him into a Gonk.
He’s not too difficult to knit. You’d only need basic stitch knowledge i.e. knit, purl, stocking stitch, garter, cast off etc. I’ve used an Irish Moss Stitch for his cardigan and an iCord for his walking stick. Instructions are included within the pattern.
He is knitted flat using 3mm needles and DK yarn. I’ve given him a lovely pair of glasses and have included a link within the pattern to the ones I used.
I hope you’ll enjoy knitting him as much as I did.
Happy Knitting
