Grandma’s German Shells Blanket

This pattern does not have a chart.
This gorgeous lacy blanket is designed using the German shells or virus stitch and a block or granny stitch (groups of double crochets) It is lovely in many different colors and “grows” a lot like a granny square.
This blanket’s finished size is 47 inches by 47 inches square. There is a gauge pattern included with this pattern but size numbers may differ for each individual.
Materials needed:
1700 yards of Red Heart super saver or any worsted weight yarn used.
G 4.25 mm hook
Scissors
Level of difficulty: Intermediate*
If you know how to single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, chain and read basic crochet patterns you can do this!
