Grandma's Girl (Cardi)
This cardigan is inspired by my grandma and her love for everything beautiful, practical, and no-fuss. The cardigan is knit bottom up as one piece. The all-over Flower stitches look good on both sides, there are no visible seams, and the method of attaching a button on both right and wrong sides make the cardigan perfectly reversible!
Knitting level: Intermediate
Skills required: making decreases, Kitchener st, German short rows
Size: 12m (24m, 3-4yo, 6-7yo, 9-10yo)
To fit: 18 (20, 23, 25, 28)“ chest with 3” of positive ease
Finished measurements: 21 (22.75, 26.25, 28, 31.5)” around chest
Yarn: DK/Light worsted weight yarn /250 yards per 100 g
Yarn used: Dharma Trading Gaia Worsted 100% Organic Merino Wool
Yardage: 240 (310, 380, 460, 590) yards
Needles: 24” circular needles and DPNs in size needed to obtain the gauge for Flower St Pattern (suggested size: US 4)
Gauge: 18 sts x 28 rows = 4” x 4” in Flower Stitch Pattern after wet-blocking
Notions: tapestry needle, stitch markers, 2 medium sized (.75” in diameter) buttons
