Grandma's Heirloom Aran Afghan
Inspired by my Grandmother who hand knit an Aran Afghan for each of her children and all of her Grandchildren. This is my re-creation of the one that she made for me, something I will always treasure!
The finished blanket is approximately 60’’ wide by 72’’ long, plus an 8’’ Triple Knot Fringe at each end. It is made up of 5 panels knitted separately and then seamed together. This is sure to be an heirloom in your home or a wonderful gift to give on a very special occasion.
With X’s & O’s (Hugs and Kisses) running up the center of each panel with an eyelet lace pattern and cables on either side.
Included with the pattern are instructions for materials, knitting, cabling and fringe, as well as photographs.
