Grandmother Moon
Thank you for your interest in this pattern. Grandmother Moon is a beanie which is knit in two parts: first a length of band to create the cables and ribbing, and then after the remaining body and crown shaping are knit in the round. The knit-up is very simple with short row repeats which are easy to memorize as you work and requires little time to complete.
Includes both charted and written out instructions in English for those who may prefer one over the other. Two size options are provided for better fitting.
While I used alpaca as my choice of yarn, any worsted weight yarn you can obtain gauge with should suffice, but preferably a fiber which has memory and can be blocked as stitch and cable definition will look better in your final product.
Grandmother Moon is in her glory during the night time hours, when Father Sun is on the other side of Mother Earth. She can help you with your dreams and visions; either to help bring them, or to assist in interpretation. In many traditions she is believed to be one of the first three spirits placed by the Great Spirit to watch over the children of Earth. She helps you with your dreams and visions.
In many Native traditions Grandmother Moon is the leader of Feminine life. She teaches about the intuitive, introspective side of your nature and has a strong connection to the cycles of life. If you need assistance with changes in your life, or wish to create changes, Grandmother Moon is a good one to ask.
