Grandmothers Flower Garden Scarf
2017 Reissue of pattern - Please note that the original versions had errors in a couple of the charts. The current download has corrected these issues, sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Thank you
The inspiration for this scarf is my Grandparents garden; as a child I spent many, many hours there. This scarf is an actual plan of their garden.
The scarf is knitted out of laceweight yarn (I used 655yards for my sample) and is in two sections which are then grafted at the centre – allowing the design to be symmetrical.
I found that knitting this scarf took less time than I would have imagined, I think this is because each section is very manageable and draws you on to the next section and then the next…
I have tried to write this pattern so that even a new lace knitter could make a successful scarf, the key explains what each stitch entails.
The pattern has a schematic to provide an overall view, a table of instructions, so you can mark off the sections as you go and detailed charts for each of the lace patterns.
This pattern has not been tested – although I have made every effort to make it error free, and have tested it myself in the knitting of the 4 repeats. Please let me know of you have any queries or difficulties.
I look forward to seeing your completed project.
