Grandpa's Granny Square
I created my Grandpa’s Granny Square on a trip to Indiana this month to visit my amazing 95 year old Grandpa. He’s a recently retired MD, jazz piano player, avid golfer and all around amazingly brilliant and talented individual. So, Grandpa, I dedicate this square to you!
This square is specifically designed to be a companion square to my MaryJane, Alien Head, and Night Owl Granny Squares. The stitch counts are all the same and work great as a filler square to showcase these other more decorative blocks. However, it is beautiful as a stand alone square as well.
It’s written as a solid one color square, but it also looks great with color changes row-to-row OR color changes on the Front Post stitches as well.
My finished square with Worsted Weight yarn and a 4mm hook comes out to just over 5.5x5.5 inches.
