A quick and cozy knit scarf, with an attractive tri-color linen stitch and fringe ends.
Pattern is advance beginner. Skills used are: knit, purl, slipping stitches with yarn in front and at back, crochet cast on, binding off, and weaving in yarn ends. Pattern is written in standard American English knitting terms.
Size of sample is 12 by 70 inches.
Tools:
- 9.0mm / US 13 circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge), 36 inches or longer (used for length only, pattern is not knit in round)
- Tapestry Needle, to sew yarn ends in
Materials:
- Approximately 240 yards super bulky weight yarn of MC and 120 yards of both CC1 and CC2 (examples shown in Lion Brand’s Hometown USA Yarn) -- MC is main color and CC1 and CC2 are contrast colors
Gauge for yarn:
- 9 sts and 12 rows in stockinette stitch equals 4 inches.
