The Granny Advent Blanket was designed with a yarn advent calendar in mind.

I used the Biffsugar Yarns 4ply advent calendar from 2019 for centre colours in this design with the main colour being Cascade Heritage 4ply in the colour Snow.

The pattern uses a simple two round solid granny square that is joined as you go and you can make the finished blanket as small or large as you like.

Using 4ply weight yarn and a 3mm hook each granny square measures approximately 3.5cm x 3.5cm.

You can of course use any weight yarn you like for this pattern, just ensure you use a corresponding hook size and that all your yarns are at the same weight.

The pattern is available for free and comes together with a video tutorial in order to explain the JAYG method I use which is particularly difficult to put into writing.
