A combination of classic granny squares and half double crochet makes this cardigan a rewarding project for the beginner to advanced crafter. There is very little sewing. I love to sew, just not after all that work. It seems that it takes just as long to sew as it does to crochet or knit, so let’s make it “Seamlessly Simple”™.

The first step is to create Granny Squares. They can be either “sewn together” or “joined together into a strip as you crochet”. Once the strip is created you crochet the body, then add stitches for the sleeves. Next divide for the neck opening and crochet half of the sleeve and bodice. The sleeve and front bodice seams are then either sewn or crocheted together. As a finishing touch, crochet front bands and a border around the entire sweater. Add buttons if you like or not.
