Granny Christmas Bauble
A retro Christmas bauble in the style of a granny square, perfect for a tree covered with retro or vintage decorations. A quick stashbuster project.
The bauble cover is crocheted in the round using aran or worsted yarn and the finished bauble is a little over 7cm (2 1/2 inches) in diameter.
This pattern has written instructions using American and British crochet terms, photos and a crochet chart.
You will need:
- Either aran yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook or worsted yarn and a 5mm hook. A total of about 20m of yarn per bauble, in up to 10 colours per bauble.
- A 7cm (2 1/2 inch) bauble. I painted maché baubles with acrylic paint, but ready-made coloured baubles or clear plastic baubles would also work.
- A tapestry needle.
- A stitch marker or safety pin.
Techniques you should know:
- Magic loop.
- Crocheting in the round.
- Sewing in yarn ends.
