Granny Circle - maths
Since this pattern has been popular for many years on my web site. I have decided to put it on Ravelry.
There is now Free pdf version of just the pattern part of the post on my blog that can be downloaded from Ravelry. It contains versions in both UK and US terms and versions without pictures for people who like to print patterns out. For the Maths part you still need to read the blog post - link below.
I used DK yarn but the pattern gives the basic principles for making any size granny circle in any yarn. Hook size should be standard for the chosen yarn.
The pattern also gives a chart for a suggested edging.
For anyone who is interested, the instructions found on the blog post start with a slightly tongue in cheek, but I think none the less accurate, idea of the maths behind my method of constructing the granny circle.
I have now added a picture of a lovely baby blanket that was made using the pattern - using a gradient 4ply yarn by Stenli from Bulgaria, James C. Brett Baby 4ply for the border all on a Tulip Etimo Gold 3.75mm hook. I had 12 groups of 3tr between the 6tr cluster.
