This easy shawl uses the moss stitch and works up easily. A self-striping Aran/worsted or heavier yarn is recommended, with a hook at least one size larger than recommended on the yarn label. The samples in the photos were developed using a 9 mm hook.

Sizing can vary depending on the intended wearer. Edging can be a simple SC along the top, or any other option you wish to add. You could even add a tassel at the point.
