Granny Filet
This is my take on the classic granny square we all grew up with. This version is worked in a filet crochet style so it lays nice and flat, even as it gets bigger and bigger. Whether you decide to make a crib size blanket, a throw for the couch, or a bedspread, the pattern keeps its shape nicely.
Pattern is written for a baby blanket that’s about 40” square but can be used to make whatever size you’d like.
Instructions are for skilled beginners who already know how to do basic crochet stitches. Standard U.S. pattern terminology is used.
In the pattern you will find:
o Complete instructions for the granny blanket and border
o Helpful photo tutorials
o A list of materials needed
o Abbreviations and special stitches used
o A general refresher of how to do all of the stitches used
o A general overview of how to read the crochet pattern
